Old Kilcullen Round Tower, Co Kildare, Ireland
The Old Kilcullen Round Tower sits on a small rise looking out over Co Kildare towards the distant Wicklow Mountains. The towers distinctive shape has arisen from the battle damage over the centuries including the rebellion of 1798 where 300 rebels were entrenched in the churchyard beneath the tower. Only the stone outline of the church remains on the site today.
Taken on a cloudy evening at sunset, a long exposure was used to capture movement in the clouds and processed dramatically to add a dark atmosphere to the photograph.
