A family holiday to County Mayo promised an opportunity to make a rare photography venture in 2017, yet the photos from this post appear curtesy of my iPhone and an afternoon family trip to the beach. Being Ireland, we prepared for all weather eventualities and hit the beach fully wrapped up against the chill September wind and the occasional drip of rain. My three year old was untroubled with the weather as she trudged off in her rain suit and wellies to build sand castles while the twins were snug inside their prams. That left my wife and I to stand and brave the wind as a front approached from the west. To the west, the ominous dark front approached while the behind us over the dunes, the blue sky and cumulus clouds. A sign of the weather to come for the remainder of the trip.
