With Isabella nearing 6 months this pregnancy shoot with my wife feels an eternity ago. For the shoot, I borrowed a set of studio lights and a backdrop from my local camera club. The light set up was fairly simple generally using a single light with a soft box. The light was then rotated from near 90 degrees for the bare bump through a more straight on 45 degrees for the other two. In both cases, I tried to flag as much light as I could from hitting the backdrop. The heart-shaped hands shot took numerous attempts using a self timer to allow me to get into position. In most cases, I made it into position in time, but getting the hands in the correct shape was harder than I anticipated. The photos were converted to black and white and then given a slight warm split tone to finalise the image.
